Tim Thomas continued to leave Canucks forwards shaking their head in Game 2, this time robbing Jannik Hansen of a sure goal. Ryan Kesler, and Hansen broke out 2-on-1, with Boston defenseman Adam McQuaid the lone man back – Kesler got the pass through to Hansen, but Thomas did an excellent job sliding across with his right pad to make the save.
With their power play struggling (0-for-7), the Bruins decided to move Zdeno Chara back to the point on their second man advantage of the game. Claude Julien's move paid off as Chara's point shot was re-directed by Mark Recchi and past Roberto Luongo for the Bruins' first lead of the series at 11:35 of the second.
Alex Burrows had a pair of goals, including the game winner, giving the Vancouver Canucks a 2-0 series lead.
